Learn better coping skills in High Point’s virtual anxiety group

Anxiety in response to stressful situations is a normal human response, but when the emotion begins to interfere with your daily activities, it may be time to consider getting help.

According to the Mayo Clinic, common symptoms of anxiety include feeling nervous or tense, sweating and trembling, digestive complaints, and looking to avoid events or interactions that make you feel anxious.

Symptoms may have been with you for years or just recently begun to affect your life.

Whatever your experience, High Point Treatment Center in New Bedford offers help through a weekly group therapy session that you can attend virtually.

As part of the virtual group, you’ll learn coping strategies and build a better support system with others who have shared and similar experiences. You can also develop new coping skills through mindfulness, cognitive therapy, and relaxation.

Sessions are held via Zoom, from 3-4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. To register or for more information, call High Point’s New Bedford Outpatient Clinic at (508) 717-0550 or go here.
